Accountant

ABOUT THE ROLE

Light Media Limited is a digital services and software company building and operating business systems and services for clients in Malawi.

We are looking for an Accountant to support both internal company accounts and finance-related operations across our services.

You will work with the team to ensure accurate bookkeeping, tax compliance, payroll processing, and financial reporting in a fast-paced startup environment.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

• Bookkeeping and maintaining accurate financial records
• Tax preparation and submission
• Payroll processing
• Preparing financial statements and management reports
• Supporting stock takes
• Handling routine finance and compliance-related communication
• Other duties as assigned

NON-NEGOTIABLE REQUIREMENTS

• Proven experience with MRA tax preparation and submissions
• Strong bookkeeping and reconciliation skills
• Minimum 2 years hands-on accounting and bookkeeping experience

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Experience using accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar)
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment

A PLUS IF YOU HAVE

• Experience in an accounting firm or multi-client environment
• Exposure to ERP systems or business management platforms
