Background

Zambia Sugar is inviting applications for the position of Artisan Painter x2 – Offcrop, under the Manufacturing Department (Nakambala). These positions report to the Maintenance Foreman – Front End.

Overall Responsibility

The successful candidates will be responsible for providing painting and signwriting works and ensuring adherence to work specifications, standards and safe working environment.

Key Performance Areas

  • Generate acceptable quality of factory maintenance works and infrastructure development.
  • Ensure that there is no wastage of material.
  • Diligently execute painting works as assigned by the supervisor to factory infrastructures.
  • Ensure all stakeholders in the business that require the services of painting and sign-writing works are effectively and satisfactorily attended to.
  • Ensure that work orders are closed/done in accordance with requirements in terms of quality, usage and specifications and that materials are available for the job.
  • Give technical and professional advice on work requirements to ensure conformity to accepted standards for work requests.
  • Provide feedback to the supervisor on material-usage and works completed.
  • Execute works as assigned by the supervisor from time to time.
  • Strictly adhere to ABF’s procedures, policies and guidelines, including, without limitation, those relating to SHERQ, Competition Law and Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC).

Qualifications and Experience

  • Grade 12 Certificate.
  • Trade Test Level 1 Certificate or better in Painting.
  • Preferably 3 years in Painting and Signwriting.
  • Experience in painting and signwriting works with notable references.
  • Knowledge of relevant Zambian Engineering standards.
  • Paid-up membership of the Engineering Institute of Zambia.
  • Suitably qualified applicants must provide certificates verified by Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA).
