We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Plant Manager to lead the operations of our manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing production, ensuring operational excellence, maintaining high standards of quality and safety, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This role requires a strong leader who can inspire teams, optimize plant performance, and deliver business objectives. Key Responsibilities • Provide clear direction, establishes objectives, and creates a shared understanding of what needs to be achieved. • Communicate expectations clearly, listen to feedback, and keep teams informed about important issues. • Prioritize safety, promote safe work practices, identify hazards, and create a culture where everyone takes responsibility for safety. • Encourage teamwork, trust, reporting of hazards, learning from incidents, and continuous improvement. • Control costs, manage resources efficiently, and ensure financial decisions support organizational objectives. • Set achievable production targets, monitor performance, solve problems, and ensure quality standards are maintained. • Ensure operations follow environmental regulations, safety requirements, and quality specifications. • Develop employees, delegate responsibilities, motivate teams, and create a positive working environment. • Support preventive maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and improve productivity. • Effectively coordinate with employees, contractors, suppliers, and project teams to achieve shared objectives. • Adjust to changing conditions, encourage innovation, and continuously improve processes and performance. • Ensure production budget is monitored regularly and updated when necessary to maintain operational efficiency. • Adhere to environmental laws, regulations, permits, and company policies. • Ensure maintenance records are maintained, including inspections, repairs, servicing, and equipment history. • Ensure that qualified personnel, spare parts, tools, and maintenance equipment are available when needed. • Plan maintenance reduces unexpected repair costs, equipment downtime, and production losses. • Ensure maintenance activities comply with manufacturer recommendations, company procedures, legal requirements, and industry standards. • Ensure maintenance performance is regularly reviewed to identify improvements, increase equipment reliability, and optimize maintenance schedules. • Ensure maintenance activities are coordinated with production and operational teams to minimize disruptions and maintain productivity. • Clear and timely communication of work schedules, project requirements, safety instructions, and progress updates. • Coordinate labour, equipment, materials, and activities to ensure surfacing work is completed according to the project plan. • Promote cooperation among supervisors, operators, contractors, suppliers, and support teams to achieve common goals. • Ensure that machinery, materials, tools, fuel, and personnel are available when required to avoid delays. Minimum Requirements • Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (preferred). • Minimum of 5 years' experience in asphalt plant operations, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role. • Strong knowledge of asphalt production processes, plant equipment, and maintenance practices. • Thorough understanding of occupational health and safety regulations. • Excellent leadership, planning, and problem-solving skills. • Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and production reporting systems. • Valid driver's license. Preferred Skills • Experience with continuous or batch asphalt plants. • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities. • Excellent communication and team leadership skills. • Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines. • Knowledge of quality control testing and mix designs.
