KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor, implement, and ensure continuous compliance with all safety and statutory requirements.
  • Facilitate the implementation of the Company Asset Management Policy, Strategy and Objectives.
  • Ensure the implementation, application and adherence to the Maintenance Information System (SAP) and ensure that all assets are clearly marked and controlled with the Asset Register, including spares management.
  • Manage the maintenance processes to ensure optimal equipment availability and functioning of production processes.
  • Enforce compliance with standard operating procedures, contractual agreements and safety guidelines and deal with non-conformances if and/or when required.
  • Facilitate, manage and execute procurement of spares, equipment and materials.
  • Provide guidance and co-ordinate, where required, with all suppliers in terms of spares, equipment and materials.
  • Ensure that preventative maintenance and spares systems are developed, implemented & maintained.
  • Advise on breakdowns and corrective maintenance to ensure minimal downtime and improved reliability.
  • Conduct Root Cause Analyses and Audits and compile and facilitate the execution of action plans.
  • Maintain effective administration and control procedures to meet performance objectives.
  • Ensure efficient management and execution of Condition Monitoring feedback.
  • Ensure efficient resource management to ensure they can meet the performance objectives required of them.
  • Ensure client satisfaction by delivering a professional and high-quality service.
  • Maintain and assist in the compilation of internal and external maintenance reports and provide detailed feedback during maintenance and production review meetings.
  • Assist, guide and control best practice in terms of Root Cause analysis.
  • Implementation, control and management of SLA’s, where required.
  • Control and update of critical controls as needed.
  • Ensure Continuous improvement process with reference to maintenance plans, procedures and activities.
  • Adherence to and control of Management of Change (MOC) principles.
  • Ensure adherence to disciplinary code and deal with corrective action where needed.
  • Identify maintenance-related training needs and implement training plans.

BACKGROUND EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES
  • Graduated and certified Mechanical/Electrical engineer (mechanical preferred)
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in plant E, M & I equipment maintenance
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a GES.
  • GCC Certificate (Government ticket) will be beneficial.
  • Experience in Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Knowledge of SAP maintenance will be an advantage.
  • Understanding and implementation of Function Location Codes (FLC)
  • Business skills, prioritisation, co-ordination ability, goal-directed, problem-solving, teamwork, analytical ability, controlling, planning, organising and good communication.
  • Computer literate, i.e., all Microsoft packages, with previous experience in computerised maintenance management systems.
  • Able to coach and mentor at both individual and team level.
  • Excellent communication skills, including presentation skills, listening, writing, and oral.
  • Leadership skills.
  • Committed to customer service, continuous improvement and achievement of objectives.
  • Planned maintenance and project management.
