Job Details

Duties include

  • Assisting with the day-to-day control and coordination of workshop activities.
  • Allocating work fairly and effectively to technicians and apprentices.
  • Monitoring repair quality and ensuring work is completed to required standards.
  • Maximising workshop productivity and labour utilisation.
  • Ensuring all parts, materials and consumables are accurately recorded for invoicing.
  • Tracking job progress and ensuring efficient turnaround times.
  • Supporting technician development through coaching and training.
  • Maintaining workshop discipline, safety compliance and housekeeping standards.
  • Overseeing the correct use and care of workshop equipment, tools and diagnostic systems.
  • Liaising with customers and internal departments to resolve technical and service-related matters.
  • Ensuring repair orders, defect coding and workshop documentation are completed accurately.
  • Managing supplier and sublet repair relationships to ensure quality, cost control and timely delivery.
  • Safeguarding customer vehicles, workshop assets and company property.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 years plus experience in a Workshop Foreman, Senior Technician, Team Leader or Assistant Workshop Controller role.
  • Diagnostic skills/ability.
  • Strong technical automotive knowledge and diagnostic ability.
  • Technician qualification – Red Seal.
  • Proven ability to supervise and motivate a team of technicians.
  • Excellent planning, organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Sound understanding of workshop administration and job card processes.
  • Ability to handle customer concerns professionally and effectively.
  • Knowledge of workshop health and safety regulations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Autoline or similar DMS knowledge
  • Valid driver's licence.
  • Clear Criminal record.
