Role Purpose
To provide meaningful business intelligence, reporting and data-driven insights across the bank's functions, enabling informed decision-making at operational, management and executive levels.
The BI Analyst will play a key role in improving the quality, consistency, usability and delivery cadence of Power BI reporting. This role requires a hands-on Power BI and data engineering professional with experience leading or contributing to Power BI transformation initiatives, including reporting modernisation, governance, standardisation and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, enhance and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports and semantic models that provide actionable business insights.

Translate business requirements into clear reporting solutions, meaningful KPIs, data models and intuitive visualisations.

Improve the overall look, feel, usability and consistency of Power BI reports in line with reporting and dashboard design standards.

Drive continuous improvement of the reporting estate by identifying opportunities to improve report performance, data quality, refresh reliability, user adoption and stakeholder experience.

Lead or contribute to Power BI transformation initiatives, such as report modernisation, migration from legacy BI tools, dashboard rationalisation, standardisation or governance implementation.

Improve the team’s reporting delivery cadence through reusable datasets, templates, design standards, prioritisation, streamlined development processes and effective stakeholder engagement.

Develop and optimise data models, DAX measures, Power Query transformations and report refresh processes.

Work closely with data engineering, technology, analytics and business teams to ensure reliable and trusted data is available for reporting.

Support data ingestion, transformation, integration and ETL/ELT processes where required.

Apply data governance, security and access-control principles, including row-level security, workspace management and dataset controls.

Investigate and resolve reporting, data quality, performance and refresh issues.

Facilitate discussions with stakeholders to understand reporting needs, gather feedback and drive adoption of improved BI solutions.

Provide guidance and knowledge sharing to team members on Power BI best practice, dashboard design and data modelling.
Minimum Requirements

Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Data Engineering, Business Intelligence or a related field.

Certification in Power BI.

Certification in Data Engineering.

Proven experience in a BI Analyst, Power BI Developer, Analytics Engineer, Data Analyst or similar role within a complex enterprise environment.

Demonstrable experience leading or significantly contributing to a Power BI transformation, reporting modernisation or BI improvement initiative.

Strong experience developing Power BI reports, dashboards, datasets and semantic models.

Advanced experience with DAX, Power Query and data modelling.

Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases and large data sets.

Practical data engineering experience, including data transformation, ETL/ELT, pipelines, integration, data quality and refresh orchestration.

Experience improving reporting delivery processes, standards, governance or team ways of working.

Experience working with stakeholders across business, data and technology teams.
Technical Skills

Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.

Experience with Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Synapse, ADF or comparable modern data platforms would be advantageous.

Ab Initio exposure would be advantageous but is not essential.
