Business Intelligence Consultant

Requirements:

• South African Citizen or Valid Work Permit
• Relevant qualification such as BEng Industrial Engineering, Bachelor's in Data Science, BEng Data Engineering, BCom Mathematical Sciences (Data Science), or equivalent practical experience demonstrating strong analytical and data skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Flexible and adaptable.
• Driven, self-motivated, and results-oriented.
• 2+ years hands-on data analysis and advanced SQL work including CTEs, window functions, complex joins, temp tables, dynamic queries, and ETL processes.
• Strong SQL skills, including CTEs, window functions, complex joins, and dynamic queries.
• Proven experience turning business requirements into data models, transformations, and dashboards/dynamic reports.
• Experience with at least one BI/analytics platform such as Qlik (Sense/View), Power BI, or similar.
• Familiarity with BI technologies such as Qlik or Power BI.
• 1+ years in a client-facing or consulting capacity delivering data/analytics solutions (not pure back-office reporting).
• Experience diagnosing issues, designing efficient approaches, and building solutions that scale without constant rework.
• Hands-on experience building end-to-end data solutions that turn business questions into usable analytics outputs.
• Ability to engage directly with stakeholders and understand business problems.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver Business Intelligence solutions to clients on their premises.
• Develop a thorough understanding of client businesses and implement systems and processes to improve operations.
• Design, develop, test, implement, and document data solutions.
• Prepare and present demonstrations and proofs-of-concept.
• Business and process analysis – translate business needs into technical specifications.
• Analyse, connect, and process data via SQL queries.
• Program scripts where required.
• Design and implement Qlik (Sense/View) solutions.
• Develop dashboards and dynamic reports.
• Perform data modelling.
• Build data pipelines.
• Develop integrations and analytics solutions.
• Provide exposure to process automation where relevant.
• Ensure data accuracy and perform data reconciliations.
• Automate and improve business processes.
• Identify opportunities to add value and recommend solutions.
• Diagnose issues and design efficient, scalable approaches.
• Collaborate with clients on data and IT business process challenges.
• Implement and manage projects from start to finish.
• Engage directly with senior executives and stakeholders.
• Deliver value to clients on a daily basis.
• Build solutions that improve operational efficiency.
• Work across multiple industries in a client-facing consulting environment.
