Key Responsibilities
CNC Machine Operation

• Operate CNC milling machines to manufacture components according to specifications.
• Load and unload materials and workpieces.
• Monitor machine operations to ensure product quality and dimensional accuracy.
• Perform machine setups and tool changes as required.
• Adjust machine offsets and parameters within approved limits.
• Ensure production targets and deadlines are achieved.

• Inspect completed components using precision measuring instruments.
• Verify dimensions against engineering drawings and specifications.
• Identify defects and report non-conformances.
• Maintain quality standards throughout the production process.
• Complete inspection records and production documentation.

• Read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions.
• Select appropriate cutting tools and fixtures.
• Assist with process improvements and productivity initiatives.
• Minimise material waste and machine downtime.

• Perform routine machine cleaning and preventative maintenance.
• Report machine faults and maintenance requirements.
• Maintain equipment in good working condition.
• Ensure safe operation of machinery at all times.

• Comply with all health, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Maintain a clean and organised work area.
• Follow safe machine operating procedures.
• Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

• Grade 12 (Matric).
• Trade Test in Machining or equivalent qualification advantageous.
• CNC Machining certification advantageous.

• 2–5 years' experience operating CNC milling machines.
• Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Experience with Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain, Haas, or similar control systems advantageous.

• CNC machine operation.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Precision measurement techniques.
• Use of micrometers, verniers, bore gauges, and measuring equipment.
• Understanding of machining processes and tooling.
• Basic CNC programming knowledge advantageous.
