CONSULTANT - Transport & Infrastructure (Cape Town)

A professional services firm is seeking a Consultant to join its Cape Town office. The role involves supporting data-driven strategy and advisory work across public and private sector projects.

The successful candidate will support the delivery of the transport portfolio of work with a strong focus on data analysis, financial modelling and business analysis. The role combines research, structured problem-solving and client engagement within complex infrastructure and policy environments.

This role offers exposure to high-impact transport and infrastructure projects across public and private sector clients. The successful candidate will contribute to meaningful development outcomes while working in a dynamic consulting environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct literature reviews, synthesize information and perform qualitative and quantitative analysis
  • Develop insights and recommendations that add value to project work
  • Draft high-quality reports, technical documents and client deliverables
  • Prepare presentations summarising findings, methodologies and project outcomes
  • Support project coordination, logistics and administrative tasks
  • Participate in client meetings and contribute to discussions
  • Assist in proposal development and project delivery components across multiple workstreams
  • Structure and present complex information in a clear and logical manner

Requirements

  • Graduate qualification in finance, commerce, engineering, economics, or a related analytical field
  • Strong academic track record
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in consulting, finance, engineering, transport or government
  • Exposure to transport engineering or transport economics preferred
  • Experience in financial modelling, business planning or infrastructure analysis advantageous
  • Proficiency in using analytical tools (e.g. Excel; AI tools such as ChatGPT or Copilot) with critical judgment
  • Strong numerical and analytical ability
  • Excellent problem-solving and logical thinking skills
  • Ability to work independently and in diverse teams
