About the Electrical Artisan Role The Electrical Artisan will play a vital role in supporting our operations by applying specialised artisan skills and technical knowledge.
This full-time position focuses on maintaining, repairing, and optimising plant equipment and systems to ensure operational excellence and safety standards are met consistently. Key Responsibilities for Electrical Artisan Jobs in Zambia Maintain a safe and healthy working environment by adhering to all safety, health, and environmental procedures and legislation.
Ensure high standards of housekeeping and safety throughout the plant. Locate, plan, and prepare for maintenance and repair work on plant equipment and associated devices.
Perform scheduled and unscheduled repairs and maintenance to optimise plant, process, and equipment performance. Work collaboratively within teams, communicating effectively and contributing to both personal and team development.
Apply root cause analysis tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, Pareto charts, and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis to solve problems and eliminate recurring issues. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, delivery, cost efficiency, and safety.
Maintain excellent machine condition and ensure process parameters are consistently met. Demonstrate discipline in managing costs while maximising business value.
Required Qualifications and Experience Minimum of a Trades Certificate or Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical). 3 to 5 years of training or practical experience within a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) production environment.
At least 1 to 2 years of technical mechanical and electrical experience in FMCG settings. Proven experience as a Process Artisan or Maintenance Artisan is advantageous.
Key Competencies and Attributes Strong self-management and organisational skills. Ability to work effectively with people and within teams.
Mental alertness coupled with analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Conceptual understanding relevant to engineering and maintenance tasks.
Subject matter expertise in engineering maintenance and continuous improvement. Commitment to applying VPO (Very Personal Ownership) principles and practices.
