BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF JOB FUNCTION:
The incumbent will be responsible for E&I and control systems project engineering, design, product development, procurement, installation and commissioning of projects; locally and abroad.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, COMPETENCIES:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Engineering, Pr.Eng / Pr.Tech.
- Relevant post graduate qualifications albeit technical, management or business related could be advantageous.
Experience:- Minimum of 5 years experience within the field of E&I and control systems engineering and construction.
- At least 2 years plant commissioning experience.
Knowledge required:- PLC’s programming and fault diagnostics.
- Instrumentation calibration and fault finding.
- Instrumentation specification.
- Control system specification.
- Understanding of P&ID’s and PFD’s
- In depth understanding of networks and communication protocols
- Budgeting principles and control.
Skills:- Designing and developing new control systems
- Maintaining and modifying existing systems
- Managing operations
- Working collaboratively with design engineers, purchases and other internal staff
- Liaising with clients, suppliers, contractors and relevant authorities
- Project managing within cost and time constrained environments
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving
- Understanding and ensuring compliance with the health and safety regulations and quality standards

RESPONSIBILITIES:- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and quality standards.
- Planning, design, specification, costing, procurement, reporting, construction, commissioning and handover on E&I and control system packages.
- Provide technical leadership to all dependent project disciplines.
- Management of suppliers and sub-contractors.
- Maintain the ECSA professional registration and manage own development.
