Role Overview:

Finance Manager Jobs in Kitwe Reporting directly to the Executive Finance Manager, the successful candidate will oversee a finance team of five and take full ownership of the company’s core accounting, financial control, and reporting processes.

This position demands active involvement in technical accounting tasks alongside supervisory responsibilities to ensure the highest standards of financial accuracy and compliance. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the local finance team, establishing clear standards for accuracy, accountability, and timely delivery.

Oversee the monthly financial close process, including reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting schedules, ensuring completion within deadlines. Prepare and review monthly journals such as payroll, accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and other adjustments.

Compile year-end financial statements using CaseWare and facilitate the annual external audit process. Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and maintain audit-ready financial records.

Review monthly balance-sheet reconciliations and promptly resolve discrepancies. Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, cashbook, bank reconciliations, and petty cash controls.

Monitor payroll accounting, salary journals, employee deductions, staff advances, and related reconciliations. Manage accounting and reconciliation of inventory, fixed assets, depreciation, additions, and disposals.

Ensure accurate reporting and reconciliation of statutory obligations, including VAT, withholding tax, PAYE, NAPSA, and NHIMA. Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports, variance analyses, and reporting packs for senior management.

Maintain robust financial controls, supporting documentation, and clear audit trails. Identify weaknesses in accounting, control, and reporting processes and implement corrective measures.

Assist the Executive Finance Manager with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis. Candidate Requirements Fully qualified ACCA or an equivalent recognized professional accounting qualification (CIMA qualifications will not be considered).

Proven experience as a Finance Manager or in a senior financial accounting role. Relevant accounting experience within Zambia, with a thorough understanding of local statutory, tax, and regulatory frameworks.

Demonstrated expertise in preparing annual financial statements and proficiency with CaseWare. Strong technical accounting knowledge and practical application of financial reporting standards.

Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel are essential. Experience with Sage or a comparable accounting system.

Track record of managing, developing, and holding finance teams accountable. Comprehensive knowledge of month-end and year-end closing processes, balance-sheet controls, journal processing, and financial reporting.

Exceptional attention to detail, sound professional judgment, and the ability to meet strict deadlines. Ideal Candidate Profile The ideal candidate is a confident, proactive finance professional who communicates clearly and takes ownership of their work.
