Purpose of the job:
To support the Quality Control and Quality Assurance departments by conducting laboratory tests on raw materials and finished products, maintaining quality and food safety documentation, assisting with internal quality systems, and supporting compliance activities. The position serves as a structured learning opportunity for a graduate entering the fields of both quality assurance and quality control.

Requirements:
Minimum Qualification:
Bachelor of Science in Microbiology / Biochemistry / Food Science (NQF 7)

Minimum Working Experience:
Graduate / No experience required

Other:
Namibian citizenship OR eligible to apply for Namibian citizenship                   
Proficiency in English 

General Duties:
1. Response
  • Learn and perform routine quality control tests on raw materials, in-process and finished products.
  • Support the QC team in conducting tests on customer complaints and non-conforming products.
  • Assist in executing standard laboratory testing protocols.
  • Assist with quality assurance activities including document control, filing, and record verification.
  • Support the maintenance and updating of quality management system documentation, procedures, and records.
  • Ensure all equipment and working areas are cleaned and maintained according to standards.
  • Monitor testing procedures to ensure that all tests are performed according to established item specifications, standard test methods, or protocols.
  • Assist with sample collection, retention sample management, and traceability record keeping.
2. Accuracy
  • Accurately record and document test results in accordance with internal procedures.
  • Ensure all quality testing is performed in line with work instructions and product specifications.
  • Maintain accurate QA records, logs, checklists, and filing systems.
  • Verify that documentation is completed correctly and submitted on time.
3. Reporting
  • Report findings and test results to the Senior Quality & Technical Controller and Quality Control Manager.
  • Assist with root cause investigations and identification of non-conformities.
  • Investigate or report questionable test results.
4. General
  • Perform any additional tasks or responsibilities as directed by supervisors.
  • Participate in internal assessments and audits as required.
  • Assist with training record administration and document distribution where required.
  • Wear Common Protective or Safety Equipment such as Safety Shoes, Glasses, Gloves, Hearing Protection, and / or Lab Coats.
