Live-In Position Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced and professional Head Guide for a luxury lodge based in Ceres, Western Cape. This role is ideal for a passionate and knowledgeable safari professional who is ready to lead a ranger team, oversee wildlife operations, and deliver unforgettable guest experiences in a high-end conservation environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing guiding standards, ensuring guest safety, and driving exceptional interpretive safari experiences while supporting conservation and operational excellence. Requirements: ✔ Proven experience as a Head Ranger or Senior Guide in a luxury lodge or safari environment ✔ Strong leadership and team management skills ✔ Excellent knowledge of flora, fauna, and conservation principles ✔ Strong communication and guest engagement abilities ✔ Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure ✔ Professional, proactive, and guest-focused mindset ✔ Willingness to live and work in a remote lodge environment ✔ Strong organisational and operational coordination skills Key Responsibilities: • Lead and manage all ranger and guiding operations • Train, mentor, and develop guiding staff to maintain high standards • Conduct game drives, bush walks, and wildlife experiences • Ensure guest safety and adherence to all operational protocols • Maintain conservation standards and environmental best practices • Manage vehicles, equipment, and guiding resources • Collaborate with lodge management on guest experience strategy • Handle guest enquiries, feedback, and special requests professionally • Contribute to conservation and wildlife interpretation programmes • Support operational planning and guiding schedules Candidate Profile: • Confident, knowledgeable safari leader with a passion for wildlife • Strong mentor who develops and inspires guiding teams • Calm, professional, and guest-experience driven • Detail-oriented with strong operational discipline • Committed to conservation and sustainable tourism Please note that only suitable candidates will be contacted.
