About the Role:
HSE Manager Jobs in Lusaka As the HSE Manager, you will be responsible for developing and driving Group-wide HSE strategies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and fostering a culture of proactive safety and environmental stewardship.
This full-time position requires a dynamic leader capable of managing complex risk assessments, incident investigations, and sustainability initiatives across multiple business units. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive HSE policies, strategies, and standards across the Group.
Promote and champion a proactive safety, health, and environmental culture throughout the organization. Ensure full compliance with applicable health, safety, and environmental laws and regulations.
Lead risk assessments, hazard identification, and effective mitigation measures. Monitor HSE performance through regular audits, inspections, and key performance indicators.
Conduct thorough incident investigations and oversee corrective and preventive actions. Manage environmental compliance, waste management, and sustainability programs.
Oversee emergency preparedness, business continuity planning, and crisis response efforts. Coordinate HSE audits, training programs, and provide executive-level reporting.
Qualifications and Experience BSc degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science/Management, Engineering, or a related discipline; MSc is an advantage. NEBOSH Diploma and IOSH certification required.
Mandatory ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 Lead Auditor certifications. Minimum of 10 years’ experience in HSE management, including at least 5 years in senior leadership roles.
Proven track record managing HSE systems across multiple business units. Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation and international best practices.
Experience in manufacturing, mining, construction, agriculture, or energy sectors is advantageous. Familiarity with IFC/World Bank Environmental, Health, and Safety performance standards.
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Membership in professional HSE bodies and experience with regulatory agencies is a plus.
