IT Support Technician

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, and support specialized hardware and software systems.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair advanced printers and equipment used in secure identity document production.
• Monitor system performance and proactively resolve technical issues to maximize system availability and uptime.
• Provide hands-on technical support, guidance, and user training to local teams and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with central IT teams to deploy software updates, security patches, and system enhancements.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation, including system configurations, incident reports, and resolution logs.
• Ensure compliance with security protocols and operational standards.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years' experience in an IT Support, IT Technician, or related technical role.
• Strong knowledge of hardware troubleshooting and maintenance, including PCs, servers, and peripheral devices.
• Proven experience diagnosing and repairing printers, with exposure to specialized or industrial printers being advantageous.
• Proficiency in software installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and operating system support across Windows and/or Linux environments.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, VPNs, firewalls, and system security principles.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and effectively manage technical challenges in a remote or decentralized environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with fluency in English.
• Flexibility and willingness to relocate to Lesotho and adapt to a multicultural working environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting government, security, identity management, or mission-critical information systems.
• Relevant IT certifications such as:
  • CompTIA A+
  • CompTIA Network+
  • Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator
  • Other related technical certifications
• Previous experience working on international projects or within developing-country environments.
