Junior Python Programmer (Fixed-Term contract)

Our client, a company based in Paarl, is seeking to appoint a dynamic individual to join their team on a fixed-term contract basis.

The scope of work will be for 3–6 months, depending on project requirements.

This role is ideal for someone looking for a temporary opportunity, or for a freelancer who can work on-site at our client’s office 1–3 days per week.

The successful candidate is innovative, resourceful and eager to learn, with strong problem-solving capabilities and a practical, solutions-driven approach.

Responsibilities will include:
• Development of systems and project-specific software solutions;
• Writing, testing and maintaining Python code;
• Assisting with back-end development and SQL database-related tasks;
• Assisting with the design and implementation of new functionality;
• Maintaining, enhancing and troubleshooting existing systems;
• Collaborating with the team on development projects.

Required Technical Skills and Experience:
• Relevant tertiary qualification or training in Software Development, Computer Science, Engineering or related field;
• 1–2 years’ relevant development experience;
• Python programming experience;
• Exposure to back-end development and SQL databases.
