Purpose: To assist the workshop team with the inspection, servicing, preparation and general maintenance of industrial tools and equipment, ensuring machinery is clean, safe and ready for hire while gaining valuable technical experience.
Responsibilities
- Assisting with the inspection, cleaning and preparation of equipment for hire
- Supporting technicians with basic servicing, maintenance and repair work
- Carrying out routine workshop duties and equipment checks
- Assisting with loading, unloading and moving equipment within the workshop
- Cleaning, testing and preparing equipment for customer collection
- Identifying and reporting damaged or faulty equipment
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe workshop environment
- Learning correct maintenance procedures and safe workshop practices
- Assisting with stock control and general operational duties as required
Criteria- Technical aptitude with a genuine interest in mechanical equipment and machinery
- Matric (Technical Mathematics and/or Technical Drawing will be advantageous)
- N2/N3 Mechanical or Electrical qualification will be advantageous
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools
- Previous exposure to a workshop, mechanical or technical environment will be advantageous
- Hands-on approach with good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability
- Eagerness to learn, develop new technical skills and build a career as an Equipment Technician
- Physically fit and able to work with industrial tools, equipment and machinery
- Reliable, dependable and of sober habits
- Positive attitude with the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Valid driver's licence will be advantageous
