About the Role – Laboratory Technician Jobs in Siavonga The Laboratory Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring that raw materials, in-process samples, and finished fish feed products consistently meet approved quality and safety specifications.

The position demands precision, integrity, and accountability, as the laboratory results directly influence raw material acceptance, production decisions, and product release. Key Responsibilities Collect, receive, and prepare raw materials, in-process, and finished feed samples accurately for laboratory analysis.

Conduct routine tests including moisture, protein, fat, fibre, ash, and other quality parameters. Perform physical inspections of finished feed products, assessing pellet size, appearance, durability, and floatability.

Carry out mycotoxin and aflatoxin testing using approved methodologies and equipment. Operate laboratory instruments such as NIR analyzers, moisture analyzers, analytical balances, and laboratory mills.

Record, verify, and report laboratory results accurately in official records or systems. Compare test outcomes with approved specifications and promptly report any deviations.

Perform routine equipment checks, cleaning, and basic maintenance; report any faults or calibration needs. Adhere strictly to SOPs, test methods, quality procedures, and SHEQ requirements.

Maintain excellent laboratory housekeeping, hygiene, and ensure safe handling and disposal of chemicals and waste.

Qualifications and Skills Mandatory:

• Grade 12 Certificate.
• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Laboratory Technology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Food Science, Microbiology, or related disciplines.
• Previous laboratory experience is advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in testing and reporting.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective record-keeping and communication skills.
• High integrity and accountability in all tasks.
• Ability to follow procedures diligently and work independently.
