Key Responsibilities
- Ensure ongoing compliance with applicable legislation, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of compliance and risk management frameworks.
- Conduct regulatory reviews and compliance assessments across the business.
- Monitor and mitigate operational, legal, regulatory, and reputational risks.
- Draft, review, and manage legal agreements, policies, and internal governance documents.
- Provide guidance to stakeholders on compliance, legal, and risk-related matters.
- Support KYC, AML, FICA, POPIA, and other regulatory compliance requirements.
- Maintain and update risk registers and compliance monitoring plans.
- Assist with internal audits, regulatory reporting, and external compliance reviews.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and assess their impact on the business.
- Deliver compliance awareness and training initiatives across the organisation.
- Support transaction teams by identifying and managing legal and regulatory risks associated with advisory mandates.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Law, Risk Management, Compliance, Corporate Governance, Finance, or a related field.
- Postgraduate qualification or Master's Degree advantageous.
- 3–6 years' experience within Risk, Legal, Compliance, Corporate Governance, Financial Services, Investment Banking, Advisory, or a related environment.
- Strong understanding of South African regulatory frameworks and corporate governance principles.
- Knowledge of FICA, AML, POPIA, Companies Act, B-BBEE legislation, and other relevant regulatory requirements.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication abilities.
- High attention to detail with the ability to work in a fast-paced, transaction-driven environment.
