PLASTIC MACHINE SETTER

Minimum Requirements:

To be considered for this role, candidates should meet the following minimum requirements:

• Matric with Mathematics is essential.
• Relevant technical experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
• Experience with plastic processing equipment, including blow moulding and injection moulding machines, will be advantageous.
• Technical training or short courses will be an added advantage.

• Maintain high housekeeping and hygiene standards in the machine area at all times.
• Conduct machine setup at the beginning of each production run and during start-up.
• Support the preparation and updating of machine setting sheets and record changes in the machine incident logbook.
• Submit first-off samples for quality approval before production begins.
• Adjust machine settings when samples are rejected or when non-conformances are identified during production.
• Monitor allocated machines to ensure ongoing compliance with product specifications.
• Ensure line clearance is completed before starting a new run and that approved first-off samples are available.
• Diagnosing machine faults and support repairs and maintenance activities.
• Report machine problems and safety or health concerns to management without delay.
• Comply with safety, health and environmental standards and maintain a clean, orderly work area.
