About the Role:
Product Specialist Crushing Jobs in Kitwe Reporting directly to the Service Manager – Central Africa, the Product Specialist will collaborate closely with sales and service teams to promote Sandvik’s crushing solutions and aftermarket parts.
This role demands technical expertise and a proactive approach to supporting our customers’ installed crushing equipment base, ensuring optimal performance and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities Deliver customer training and provide efficient technical support for all crushing products supplied within Central Africa.
Assist customers’ installation and erection teams during commissioning of Sandvik crushing equipment as needed. Support maintenance teams with fault diagnosis and repairs using hydraulic, electrical, and instrumentation schematics.
Collaborate with sales to promote crushing solutions equipment and aftermarket parts. Conduct equipment condition, performance, and process audits to improve maintenance planning and equipment integrity.
Identify current and future customer service needs by building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders. Provide technical and engineering information in response to customer inquiries.
Lead optimization projects and identify brownfield replacement or upgrade opportunities. Drive implementation of “Connected” equipment programs and promote digital solutions to customers.
Identify and develop remote monitoring opportunities, particularly with key Central African customers. Contribute to team goals by achieving KPIs aligned with customer and company objectives.
Ensure all crushing solutions work is completed within budget and timeframes. Maintain accurate installed base data and provide relevant information to regional and global teams.
Adhere to Sandvik’s health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures. Stay informed on new developments and upgrades in crushing technology.
Qualifications and Experience Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree, electrical trade qualification, or equivalent technical background. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role within the mining industry, with a focus on crushing and screening.
Competency in electronics and instrumentation. Comprehensive knowledge of crushing and screening operations for both surface and underground mining.
Proven understanding of crushing and screening plant process flows. Familiarity with Sandvik equipment and ASRi/ACS systems is advantageous.
Strong business acumen combined with a commitment to environmental, health, and safety standards. Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including spreadsheets. Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Fluent in English, both spoken and written. Valid passport with willingness and ability to travel frequently across Africa on short notice.
