Purpose of Role:
Control and manage the operational function of engineered pumps manufacturing, ensuring compliance with technical and quality standards. Oversee health, safety, housekeeping, and environmental compliance. Reduce scrap levels through corrective actions and drive continuous improvement. Lead training and development initiatives and manage all aspects of manufacturing and quality. Apply CIP methods to minimise costs, implement advanced processes to enhance productivity, and develop work instructions and toolbox talks.
Key Accountabilities:
- Control and manage the operational function of engineered pumps manufacturing.
- Ensure all engineered pumps comply with technical and quality standards.
- Oversee health, safety, housekeeping and environmental compliance.
- Manage employee timekeeping, attendance and absenteeism.
- Plan work schedules to support cost-effective production and timely delivery and monitor and control excess time and overtime within the division.
- Maintain on time delivery and turnover targets set by senior management.
- Monitor and reduce scrap levels through corrective actions.
- Drive continuous improvement through problem-solving and innovation.
- Lead training and development initiatives for employees.
- Manage all aspects of manufacturing and quality within the engineered pumps plant.
- Apply CIP methods to minimize costs and optimize resource use.
- Implement advanced processes to enhance productivity and efficiency.
- Develop and maintain written work instructions and toolbox talks.
- Conduct performance reviews and manage staff development and labor relations.
- Comply with and enforce all the Client’s policies and procedures.
- Assist fellow employees with daily functions as and when required.
- Carry out all other reasonable tasks that may be delegated from time to time.
Education: - Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent
- Diploma or Degree in Operations Management or Mechanical Engineering
- Fitter and Turner Trade will be advantageous
Experience:- 5-8 years experience within a manufacturing environment.
- 1 year pumps experience.
Requirements:- Proficiency in SAP or similar ERP system
- Basic knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and process optimization.
