Senior Electrical Engineer – Wind

An exciting opportunity is available for a Senior Electrical Engineer – Wind to join our client’s renewable energy team in Cape Town. This role is suited to an experienced electrical engineering professional with strong exposure to utility-scale wind projects, MV/HV systems, and electrical balance of plant design. The successful candidate will play a key role across project development, execution, commissioning, and close-out phases while contributing to technically compliant and efficient project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

•         Support the development of technical base cases and electrical design criteria for wind energy projects

•         Review technical documentation, grid connection requirements, and engineering contracts

•         Assist with the preparation and evaluation of RFPs for WTGs, substations, and EBoP packages

•         Contribute to MV collector system layouts, substations, and grid connection infrastructure

•         Review conceptual, FEED, and detailed electrical engineering designs

•         Validate MV/HV systems, substations, protection schemes, and cable routing designs

•         Support testing, commissioning, grid compliance, and energisation activities

•         Interface with EPC contractors, OEMs, and grid operators on technical matters

•         Conduct site inspections to ensure installations comply with engineering specifications

•         Support project close-out documentation, as-built drawings, and handover processes
