A globally diversified mining company that explores for, extracts, and processes gold and copper is seeking a Senior Specialist: Security Operations (Technology & Projects) leads the planning and execution of security technology upgrades, infrastructure projects, and automation initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Promote a Zero Harm culture by applying and monitoring safety standards, legislative regulations, and safe work procedures.
Ensure health and safety standards are met across all project and operational activities.
Identify, plan, and execute security technology upgrades, system optimization, and infrastructure projects.
Implement automation tools and modern security systems to enhance operational efficiency.
Develop, assess, and mitigate operational risk plans to prioritize projects and resource allocation.
Apply data-informed decision-making to manage security and technological incidents effectively.
Oversee departmental and project budgets, contracts, and procurement processes.
Manage vendor relationships to ensure timely project delivery and resource optimization.
Lead, schedule, coach, and mentor team members to support career growth and workload balance.
Build strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
Promote a diverse, respectful, and inclusive workplace culture.
Minimum Requirements:
Grade 12 or equivalent.
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
5–8 years of progressive experience in security technology management.
3–5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
Proven track record in operational project management (scheduling, execution, business cases, and cost control).
Declared medically fit for the position and environment via the Gold Fields Occupational Health Centre (including passing a Heat Tolerance Screening test and other required suitability assessments).
