A leading beverage manufacturing company is looking for an experienced Shift Millwright with strong experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance, PLC troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance within a fast-paced FMCG or manufacturing environment to join their team in Tulbagh, Western Cape. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe, continuous, and efficient operation of production equipment, minimizing downtime, and supporting production targets through effective maintenance practices.
Responsibilities:
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on production, bottling, packaging, and processing equipment.
Diagnose and repair complex electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults.
Troubleshoot PLCs, AC/DC drives, sensors, and related automation equipment.
Install, commission, and modify production machinery to improve efficiency.
Carry out machine rebuilds during planned shutdowns and identify required spare parts.
Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventative measures to reduce recurring failures.
Ensure all maintenance work complies with health, safety, quality, and food safety standards.
Mentor junior technicians and assist with shift maintenance activities.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and job card feedback using the maintenance management system.
Requirements:
Qualified Millwright with a Red Seal Trade Test Certificate.
Minimum of 5–8 years' experience as a Millwright within an FMCG, food manufacturing, or similar industrial environment.
Experience with electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Boiler knowledge, Medium Voltage (MV) training, and a Wireman's Licence are advantageous.
Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, standby, and public holidays.
Ability to work in a physically demanding, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
