Software Developer (Frontend Focused) (CH1246) (REMOTE)

Our client develops cloud-based software solutions that automate accounting, payroll, compliance and financial workflows for SMEs. They are looking for an experienced Developer with a strong front-end focus who is comfortable working across modern web interfaces, legacy .NET applications, SQL Server and cloud infrastructure.

This is a hands-on role where the successful candidate will build and enhance customer-facing web applications while integrating with backend services, APIs and databases.

Minimum Requirements

• Matric completed

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science or Software Development (advantageous)

• 3–5+ years' commercial software development experience

• Excellent English communication skills, with the ability to understand Afrikaans.

Technical Requirements

Essential

• Strong front-end web development experience

• C# .NET / ASP.NET development

• Microsoft SQL Server (Writing and optimising SQL queries, Stored Procedures, Database integration)

• API and Web Service integration

• HTML5, CSS3

• JavaScript

• Strong debugging and problem-solving ability

Cloud / Infrastructure

• Experience working within AWS environments

• Understanding of cloud-hosted web applications

• Exposure to deployment and infrastructure concepts

• Ability to work with developers responsible for cloud infrastructure

Advantageous

• Experience with Classic ASP or VB.NET applications

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain customer-facing web applications.

• Build responsive, intuitive user interfaces.

• Integrate front-end applications with APIs and backend services.

• Maintain and extend existing .NET applications.

• Develop and modify SQL Server stored procedures where required.

• Troubleshoot production issues and optimise application performance.

• Work closely with software developers, business analysts and product owners.

• Participate in ongoing enhancement of the company's cloud-based software platform.

Ideal Candidate

• A high-calibre software developer with strong analytical ability.

• Primarily a Front-End Developer rather than a Mobile Developer.

• Comfortable working in both modern and legacy Microsoft environments.

• Experienced with SQL Server and backend integrations.

• Familiar with AWS-hosted applications and cloud infrastructure.

• Able to take ownership of features from design through deployment.

• Collaborative, pragmatic and quality-focused.
