Software Technical Manager

This organisation operates in a solution-driven environment, delivering custom software and enterprise document management platforms to external clients across industries. Their focus is not internal systems, it’s on building tailored, client-facing solutions that solve operational and business challenges.
You’ll step into a role where you’re not just managing developers; you’re responsible for ensuring the team consistently delivers high-quality, client-ready solutions on time and within scope, while navigating real-world delivery pressures and stakeholder expectations. 
This position sits between technical execution and client engagement, requiring someone who is equally comfortable reviewing architecture as they are managing client conversations and delivery expectations.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a team of developers to deliver client-facing software and document management solutions
• Oversee end-to-end project delivery, ensuring timelines, scope, and quality standards are met 
• Act as the technical bridge between clients, stakeholders, and development teams 
• Drive quality through code oversight, best practices, and performance standards
• Manage workload allocation, team performance, and delivery reporting to senior stakeholders 
• Engage directly with clients to gather requirements, provide updates, and resolve technical challenges 
• Support post-delivery processes including maintenance, SLAs, and continuous improvement 

Requirements:

• Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field 
• 5+ years’ hands-on experience in software / platform development (Laserfiche or ECM preferred) 
• 3+ years in a technical leadership or management role 
• Proven experience delivering client-facing solutions (non-negotiable)
• Strong technical understanding of enterprise content management / document management systems 
• Experience with full-stack development and third-party integrations
• Ability to manage delivery timelines, scope, and resource allocation
• Strong reporting and communication skills with the ability to translate technical updates into business insights
