The North Western Provincial Health Office, under the US President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) Project through a Cooperative Agreement (CoAg) with the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the positions listed below, to be employed on a ten (10) month contract, renewable subject to satisfactory performance and availability of funds.

SALARY: A competitive package will be offered to successful candidates on a ten (10) month contract basis.

POSITION 9: STORES OFFICER — 1 (ONE) POSITION

Job Purpose

To manage the receipt, storage, and distribution of health commodities, supplies, and equipment in order to ensure efficient stock management and continuous availability of essential supplies.

Job Responsibilities

Stock Management

  • Undertakes effectively the receipt, verification, and storage of health commodities and supplies in order to maintain accurate and secure stock levels.

Inventory Control

  • Undertakes regularly stock counts and reconciliations in order to prevent stock-outs, overstocking, and expiries.

Requisition & Distribution

  • Processes and issues requisitions from facilities and departments in a timely manner in order to ensure continuous availability of supplies.

Warehouse Management

  • Maintains a clean, organized, and secure storage facility in order to safeguard commodities and comply with storage guidelines.

Reporting

  • Prepares and submits timely stock and inventory reports in order to facilitate decision making and accountability.

Knowledge and Skills Requirements

  • Full Grade 12 School Certificate / Form V.
  • Diploma in Purchasing and Supply, Stores Management, Business Administration, or equivalent.
  • Membership with the Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply (ZIPS) is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of two (2) years relevant experience in stores or warehouse management.
  • Ability to write comprehensive reports.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Computer literate.
  • Integrity, confidentiality, and organizational skills.
