Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 / Matric.
  • Valid driver's licence and own reliable vehicle.
  • Minimum of 5 years' external sales experience within the industrial, manufacturing, or technical industry.
  • Proven experience in both account management ("farming") and new business development ("hunting").
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM systems (Skynamo experience advantageous).
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to engage customers at all levels.
  • Self-motivated, reliable, results-driven, and able to work independently as well as within a team.
  • Quick learner with a proactive approach and a proven track record of achieving sales targets.
  • Professional presentation and excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow an established customer portfolio by developing strong client relationships and identifying opportunities to increase sales.
  • Drive new business development by identifying, engaging, and securing new customers to expand market share and generate revenue.
  • Execute a structured customer visitation plan, maintaining approximately 20 existing customer visits and 5 new business development visits per week.
  • Conduct bi-weekly chemical tank testing to ensure product performance, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
  • Identify additional sales opportunities within existing accounts while actively prospecting for and converting new business.
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the company's chemical and powder product range to provide technical guidance and become a trusted advisor to customers.
  • Follow the company's sales methodology and sales process to effectively manage the sales pipeline and achieve performance targets.
  • Accurately capture all customer interactions and sales activities on the CRM system following each customer visit.
  • Prepare and submit weekly sales reports, ensuring all information is accurate, detailed, and submitted within the required deadlines.
  • Represent the company professionally at all times, maintaining high standards of customer service, efficiency, and integrity.
