The Proposal Engineer (Capital Cost) is responsible for developing and reviewing contract bid requirements in alignment with client specifications, project objectives and standard ProProcess equipment.
Where bespoke equipment solutions are required, the Proposal Engineer will be responsible for coordinating the custom design process, from initial process and conceptual design development through to tender submission.
The role involves compiling and coordinating supporting documentation to enhance proposal competitiveness, as well as evaluating project costs and timelines. In addition, the Proposal Engineer assesses and identifies factors that may positively or negatively impact project scope, cost, schedule, and overall proposal viability.

Job requirements:
- National Diploma / B Tech / B Eng / BSc Eng (Metallurgical, Mechanical and Process) or similar
- Experience with project estimation within an EPC/EPCM environment, focusing on process engineering projects (mechanical, electrical, chemical disciplines)
- Experience with FEED studies and Man-hour estimates
- Experience with conceptual development projects with parameter guidelines covering items such as tanks, pumps, powder handling, storage vessels, instrumentation and controls, structural steel, process piping covering small and large bore equipment and big and small ore sizes.
- Good understanding of the engineering and manufacturing industry.
- Good business acumen (i.e., numeracy skills, generation of profit and loss, margin).
- Understanding of project schedules and project cashflow forecasting.
- Understanding of project contract, terms and conditions and sureties.
