Duties & Responsibilities

• Repairing and maintaining all mechanical equipment.
• Handling and moving objects by using hands and arms to install, position, and move materials.
• Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or defects.
• Performing activities that require the use of arms and legs, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
• Observing, receiving, and obtaining information from relevant sources to complete work tasks.
• Monitoring and reviewing information from materials to detect or assess problems.
• Identifying information, estimating, and recognizing differences or similarities, as well as
• changes in events, to complete work tasks.
• Controlling machines and various processes.
• Performing preventive maintenance on all equipment in the factory, including mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Conducting scheduled checks on machinery and parts.
• Finding and fixing faults, oiling, and cleaning machinery and parts.
• Carrying out scheduled overhauls and replacing parts that have reached the end of their working life.
• Being able to work on other sites to perform breakdown repairs

• Productivity – follow formal/written and informal/verbal instructions and procedures as the above processes may change.
• Ensure that good housekeeping practices are followed.
• Health and Safety – wear the protective equipment issued to you while working.
• Follow any lawful instruction required by management.
• International/Local commissioning and field service – as required for commissioning and on-site work.
• Ensure all equipment issued to you needed for jobs and projects are kept safe.

• Job-specific knowledge with a minimum qualification of N3 level with necessary Red Seal qualification as a Fitter.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in relevant field.

• Basic proficiency in relevant technical tools or systems necessary for the role.
• Ability to work as a team member and participate in projects that involve or impact the entire company.
• Customer service orientation and emphasis on results, diplomacy, multitasking and priority setting.

• Understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Ability to manufacture components using appropriate tools, following drawings and specifications.
• Perform basic mathematical calculations (e.g., measurements, tolerances).
• Practical skills with machinery and tools.
• Willingness to work overtime or at other sites as required

• The ability to read and write in English (Matric)

• The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Must be able to perform work duties on his/her own or in a team.

• Must be able to work overtime to get projects completed if required.
