Guide Instructor (Botswana)

This is a hands-on teaching role for a seasoned guide who is passionate about mentoring the next generation of field guides; the ideal candidate combines strong theoretical knowledge with practical bush skills and thrives in an unfenced wilderness training environment.

Core Criteria:

• FGASA NQF4 qualification preferred; FGASA NQF2 will be considered as a foundation to build on
• A walking qualification is preferred
• Botswana residency required
• Proven experience guiding and/or instructing in a professional capacity
• Strong theoretical knowledge of ecology, tracking, and field guiding principles
• Excellent communication and mentoring ability
• Comfortable living and working in a remote, unfenced wilderness camp
• Meets all legal guiding requirements for operating in Botswana

• Deliver theoretical and practical training to guide students in line with the school's established instructor framework
• Lead field-based lessons covering tracking, ecology, and guiding technique
• Assess and mentor students throughout their training programme
• Uphold safety standards during all walking and driving activities
• Maintain the training camp's operational and teaching standards
• Contribute to a positive, immersive learning environment for students from varied backgrounds
