REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications and Experience

1. Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related field.
2. Minimum of two years’ practical experience in ICT systems installation, configuration, maintenance and technical support.
3. A valid driver’s licence held for more than one year, with practical driving experience.
4. At least one recognised professional certification, preferably Microsoft, Cisco CCNA, CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, MikroTik, HPE, Aruba, Dell, Lenovo, Ubiquiti or an equivalent certification.

Technical Experience

5. Practical experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting:

• Desktop computers, laptops, servers and printers
• Routers, switches, wireless access points and structured networks
• Windows operating systems and Microsoft applications
• CCTV surveillance systems
• Biometric and card-based access-control systems
• Two-way radio communication systems
• Basic solar and backup-power systems
• Virtualisation platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V

Networking, Installation and Technical Support

6. Good knowledge of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, LAN, WAN, VLANs and wireless networks.

7. Ability to join computers to domains, configure user accounts and troubleshoot connectivity problems.

8. Ability to conduct site surveys and prepare technical installation requirements.

9. Experience with structured cabling, equipment mounting, cable termination, labelling and testing.

10. Ability to perform equipment testing, commissioning, preventive maintenance and fault diagnosis.

11. Strong hardware and software installation and troubleshooting skills.

12. Ability to prepare installation reports, job cards, network diagrams and other technical documentation.

13. Good communication, interpersonal and customer-service skills.

14. Ability to work independently and as part of a technical team.

15. Willingness to travel and work at client sites when required.

16. Ability to work under pressure and complete assignments within agreed deadlines.
