Junior Laboratory Analyst

What you’ll be doing

• Receive samples and labelling, log and track samples using LIMS.
• Reagent preparation
• Assist with routine laboratory analysis on ICP OES and instrument checks under
• supervision.
• Prepare worksheets, standards and samples as required.
• Support quality control checks and report any result or equipment concerns.
• Maintain clean, safe and organized work areas.
• Follow health, safety, PPE, waste handling and quality system requirements.
• Assist with secure handling and storage of high-grade or precious metal samples.

• Matric required; Mathematics and Science will be an advantage.
• Relevant laboratory experience will be an advantage.
• Basic computer literacy and experience with data capturing will be beneficial.
• Knowledge of LIMS, ISO 17025 or laboratory quality systems will be an advantage.
  
  

• Strong attention to detail and accurate recordkeeping.
• Reliable, punctual and willing to learn.
• Good organizational and communication skills.
• Able to follow instructions, procedures and safety rules.
• Team orientated and able to work with laboratory staff to support accurate and timely
• results.
