Requirements:

  • Diploma in a relevant field.
  • Completion of a Trade Test.
  • 3 years' relevant heavy industry experience after diploma.
  • Good spoken and written English.
  • Computer skills.
  • Experience with installation and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, manuals and instructions.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment to ensure safe and reliable plant operations.
  • Install, inspect, maintain, repair and overhaul mechanical equipment, including pumps, valves, compressors, gearboxes, motors, piping systems and rotating machinery.
  • Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out effective troubleshooting to minimise equipment downtime.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, schematics and maintenance instructions to perform maintenance tasks accurately.
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify wear, defects, leaks, misalignment, vibration and other potential equipment failures.
  • Replace or repair defective mechanical components using appropriate tools and equipment. 
  • Assist with plant shutdowns, commissioning and equipment start-up actvities.
