Key Responsibilities:

  • New business to be activated on system, within 1 day, following approval from the Insurer/Binder Manager.
  • Ensure all Compliance Documents are on file, if not, query must be created in Diary and referred to Line Manager.
  • New Business sent to insured within 31 days of inception. New Business must include policy schedule, disclosure notice, policy wording and compliance documents signed by policyholder.
  • Send out renewal listing to broker/s 3 months in advance.
  • Prepare/Request Terms from Insurers 60 days prior to renewal date.
  • Renewal schedules are to be sent to policy holder 31 days prior to renewal date. Inclusive of disclosure notice, policy wording and adjustments made to the policy.
  • Phone the insured prior to the forthcoming renewal's debit order collection cut off. Broker Renewals: ensure renewal meeting diary entry in broker's Flexi diary 60 days in advance.
  • Ensure current Letter of Appointment and Debit Order Authority on file.
  • Amendments completed within 3 days or before close-off, whichever is the lesser.
  • Acknowledge receipt of instruction to amend from policyholder on the same day the request is received.
  • All Cancellations related requests sent to broker, branch manager and emailed within 1 hour of
    receipt from policyholder/ alternative broker. Cancellation procedure to be adhered to.

Minimum Requirements:

  • RE5
  • NQF4 in short-term insurance qualification
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in domestic underwriting
  • Familiarity with underwriting guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  • Insurance regulatory knowledge.
