Piggery Trainee Manager - Eastern Cape

What You'll Be Doing

• Overseeing and prioritising maintenance across buildings, pens, feed lines, pumps, water systems, fencing and general farm infrastructure
• Leading, coaching and holding your team accountable to high standards of animal welfare, biosecurity and productivity
• Managing farm administration, records, reports, stock counts, compliance documentation and staff scheduling
• Driving towards production targets and continuously looking for ways to improve efficiency
• Being visibly present on the farm during early mornings, late nights and whenever the operation needs you
• Building genuine hands-on knowledge of the pigs in your care, health, behaviour, welfare and performance

• A valid driver's licence (essential)
• Strong administrative ability, organised, accurate, and comfortable with recordkeeping and reporting
• Proven leadership and people-management skills, with the ability to motivate and hold a team accountable
• A genuine passion for pigs and livestock, this isn't a desk job
• A goal-driven, results-focused mindset
• Willingness and stamina to work irregular hours, including early starts and late finishes
• At least 5 years of relevant work experience in piggery, livestock or agricultural operations
• A relevant tertiary qualification (Agriculture, Animal Production or related field) is preferred, though strong practical experience will also be considered
